My adult family will be in Ocean City, MD April 29 - May 8, 2017. Will we be able to access the beach to comb with our metal detectors?

Absolutely!  Most of the treasures are found in the tidal area of the beach - look for the darker sand by the water.  The only place you cannot go is in the dunes or any areas that are privately owned (these are mostly in front of homes or condos.

most definately.  I see it all of the time, especially after 5pm.  Before 5pm is not recommended as it could get in the way of people on the beach.

Yes, OC's entire ocean beach is public, accessible, and free all year round! You are allowed to metal detect all you want on the beach as long as you stay out fo the dunes and don't disturb others. You are not allowed to metal detect anywhere on Assateague.

Ocean City's beach is open every day of the year and it is always free to everyone.  You are more than welcome to use your metal detectors on the beach.   Have fun!
