We are looking to visit just for the weekend (March 24 and 25th) however I was wondering if there are any boardwalk shops/restaurants open this time of the year?

If the weather is nice, many of the boardwalk shops will be open (however shorter operating hours).

If you are looking for a place to stay on the boards, highly recommend Holiday Inn Suites or Quality Inn Boardwalk.

Have a great weekend!

My boyfriend wants to go out on a boat for a day of fishing. Is there any company that will allow a day fishing trip for Tuna, Shark and other fish?

Check out OC Fishing Center (www.ocfishing.com or 800-322-3065) in West Ocean City.  Offers great fishing options and packages.

Thank you,

My boyfriend and I are visiting OC. I've been plenty of times as a kid but he's never been. We are in our early 20's but not into drinking. What other fun things are there to do besides the beach and boardwalk?

Hello from NJ! My family and I are considering going to OC for Spring Break April 8-13. Are there things to do at this time or is everything closed till May? Thanks!

2.  Bowling
3.  Go Karts
4.  Laser Tag
5.  Flying a Kite on the Beach
6.  Bike on the Boards
7.  Seashell Hunt (vs Egg Hunt)

Have a great time!

Well, you can :
ride bikes on the boardwalk,
ride go karts at Baja Amusements in West Ocean City,
Play laser tag at Planet Maze
Ice skate indoors at the Carousel Hotel
Play mini golf. If you can't find an open outdoor one there are two centers on 68th and 136th St to play indoors.
There is the Easter Kids Fun Fair and Art and Craft Show at the Convention Center on April 6-7
Go to the spring celebration in downtown Berlin
You can explore Assateague Island
Shop
Walk the boardwalk and try Thrasher's Fries and Fisher's Popcorn
Jolly Roger Amusement's says that the pier rides will be open Easter weekend (but that probably depends on the weather)
Play at the arcade on the boardwalk
Fly kites
Go bowling
Go to the movies
Try an all you can eat buffet and have a contest to see who can eat the most crab legs!
Most of all..........just enjoy the time together.
Have a wonderful holiday in OC.

The Festivals of Music is in town that weekend at the Convention Center from 8 - 8 on May 11-12.  May 12 also is the White Marlin Festival and Crab Soup Cook Off on Somerset Plaza on the boardwalk.  Begins at noon. There will be music, clowns, facepainters, and magicians and different exhibits in addition to the awesome soup!
The rides and games may or may not be open. Normally they all open full time Memorial Day weekend.  Of course you can still play mini golf, laser tag, drive go karts at Baja Amusements, check out the shops or the Life Saving Station Museum on the boardwalk.  And you can still eat your way from one end of town to the other!

Are there horses to rent or do you need to bring your own for riding horses on the beach?

This is all very new to us and the program is just starting out.  Please read: http://mdcoastdispatch.com/articles/2012/02/24/Top-Stories/Beach-Horseback-Riding-Now-Offered for more detailed information.  But basically, right now, you can ride your own horse on the beach for a $50 seasonal pass or $20 daily pass.
As the article mentions, local boarders are trying to create OC/Horse packages for visitors.  You might want to contact one of the local horse farms: http://www.equinenow.com/riding/ocean+city-maryland.htm.  Maybe ask if they plan on having horses to rent.

Given the predicted nice weather, you will find many stores open, especially on the Boardwalk.  It is also St. Patrick's Day and that always draws a good crowd.  Try www.ococean./rodneysaves for some great hotel deals.

We are thinking of visiting on the week of spring break, the first week in April. My 13 year old is a mini golf nut, will any of the courses be open then? How about the rides on the boardwalk?

The indoor rides only at Trimpers will be open.  There are two indoor Old Pro Golf Courses that will be open and if the weather is nice, many more will open on the weekends.

Ocean City has one pay pier that I know of and it located oceanside right off the Boardwalk.  I know people catch flounder and perch from the pier using bloodworms.  I could not find any cost information but you may want to try Oyster BayTackle for more details.  They are at available at Oyster Bay Tackle, Ocean City Md (410-524-3433).
