The Discovery Center is full of hands-on and interactive learning for guests of all ages. our 16,000 square foot building is open 7 days a week. Mon-Sat from 10 -4, and Sun 12-4.
The Wally Gordon River Otter Exhibit will open this summer. The Richard A. Henson STEAM Classroom & Laboratory is full of fun. STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering/Environment, Art/Agriculture & Math). From the moment you walk in and see the 60' two story steamship, the Native American exhibit, a real beaver lodge kids can crawl through, a decoy shed, boat building shed and sailboat that lets wind fill the sails when a button is pushed.
Every Tuesday at 10:30 there is a free Mommy and Me; Daddy Too, with paid admission or free to Members, and allows us to offer toddlers a chance to develop crucial learning and social skills.
The large Museum Store has wonderful selections from works of art from local artisans, decoys, education toys, items that school children enjoy, books by local authors, and everything in between.
Visitors can extend their visit to Pocomoke by walking through the Cypress Swamp on the Discovery Nature Trail. Also, within walking distance are the Sturgis One Room School House, the historic Mar-Va Theatre and the Costen House.
