Overview

Guided tours through Ocean City's historic district highlighting certain places that are said to be haunted or associated with tales of the dead. This 1.7 mile walking tour stops in front of seven to ten sites along the Boardwalk and Baltimore Avenue. (we do not go inside the properties). A certified guide trained in the history and folklore of Ocean City will lead a group of fifteen to twenty-five guests on a walk that may feature the Ocean City Life-saving Station Museum, the Henry Hotel, the Atlantic Hotel, the Tarry-A-While Guest House, Trimper?s Rides, Dolle?s Candyland, the Plim Paza and the Shoreham Hotel. Hear about the ghosts of hoteliers, innkeepers, entertainers, children, surfmen, jilted lovers, sea captains, shipwrecks and a very angry ghost who was murdered in a hotel basement.

The Ocean City Ghost Walk is one of ten Eastern Shore Ghost Walks written and designed by Mindie Burgoyne, author of Haunted Eastern Shore: Ghostly Tales from East of the Chesapeake. There is also a BERLIN tour which is located just 8 miles from Ocean City.

FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT
These walks are designed to provide family entertainment and are great for adults and children. Each walk lasts about 90 minutes and cover the heritage of Ocean City as well as the ghosts, so guests will learn a good bit of history that is woven into the stories. It is our hope that every guest will leave the walk feeling like Ocean City is an old friend.

The ghost walks take place rain or shine and continue in all kinds of weather - except weather that threatens the public safety. Check the website for details.

WALKING / DISABILITIES
The walk covers 1.7 linear miles. It begins at the Inlet and ends on 4th Street so it is not a complete loop. The route can accommodate wheel chairs and strollers, so persons with small children or disabilities are welcome and can enjoy the walk provided they can keep up with the pace of the walking group.

COST
Adults $15, Kids (8-12) $9, children under 8 are free. Advanced Reservations are required as the tours sell out, and there may not be room for people who simply meet the group without reservations. No refunds are given if cancellation is made within the 48 hour window, but all tickets are transferrable.

Copies signed by the author of Haunted Eastern Shore: Ghostly Tales from East of the Chesapeake and Haunted Ocean City and Berlin (due to be released Oct. 7, 2014) are for sale after each walk. Cost is $20.
