DEW TOUR SELECTS OCEAN CITY TO KICK OFF 2011 SEASON

Ocean City Stop to Feature Skateboard Bowl and Surfing, July 21-24

Burr Ridge, Ill. – March 24, 2011 – The Dew Tour today announced its complete schedule for the 2011 season, which includes the addition of new host site Ocean City, Md. The first stop of the 2011 circuit, Ocean City’s beach front will be the site of the Dew Tour’s first on-the-sand competition taking place July 21-24.

As the Dew Tour returns to Maryland and marks its first year in Ocean City, the Atlantic Ocean will serve as the backdrop for the first stop of 2011. As the only beach venue in the Tour’s history, Ocean City provides a unique setting for the East Coast leg, and will feature several new attributes exclusive to this event, including a skateboard bowl contest and a surf competition. The event will also include skate and BMX vert and BMX park, as well as a live concert staged on the beach.

“I can’t wait to kick off the Dew Tour season in my home state, and to have it be the first stop selected for the bowl contests,” said three-time Dew Cup Champion, Bucky Lasek. “The Dew Tour continues to provide new experiences for their spectators and athletes, and I am really looking forward to putting on a show for the home crowd in both vert and bowl events.”

“We’re excited to welcome the Dew Tour to Ocean City, and to be able to differentiate this stop from the rest of the season,” said Ocean City Mayor, Rick Meehan. “Merging action sports with a bustling beach destination exposes both the event and the city as evolving and family-friendly, with a variety of offerings for tourists and locals alike.”

“Ocean City is set to be a spectacular season-opener, introducing new components to the Dew Tour that can only be provided with the type of venue they have available,” said Chris Prybylo, Alli Vice President of Events and Dew Tour General Manager. “We truly appreciate the passion and support the Ocean City community has shown for the Dew Tour and are looking forward to bringing the Dew Tour back to Maryland.”

Raising the stakes this year, the prize purse is increased per event along with the year-end bonuses. The full Dew Tour schedule features multi-sport events at each of the four stops, including BMX dirt, park, and vert, as well as skateboarding street and vert. Each event will feature a different mix of disciplines and specialty competitions, exposing each market to fresh experiences.
