MVA approves Ocean City organizational license plate,
Applications for plate now being accepted at City Clerk’s Office
Ocean City, MD - Maryland citizens interested in obtaining an Ocean City, Maryland organizational license plate for their vehicle can now order one through the City Clerk’s Office.
The new license plate, which features the vintage Ocean City logo displaying the white marlin, has recently received approval from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
The cost to obtain the license plate is $35 per tag number. An application must be submitted with the fee. Applications are available at City Hall, 301 Baltimore Avenue, or through the town’s web site at www.town.ocean-city.md.us. Your vehicle must be registered in the State of Maryland. Plate numbers are assigned by the MVA.
The Town of Ocean City Department of Tourism last fall conducted a poll to pick a new license plate via its web site at www.ococean.com, where citizens overwhelmingly selected what has been referred to as the vintage Ocean City logo. Following approval from the Mayor and Council, the winning design was submitted to the Motor Vehicle Administration’s review committee. The town received word late last week that the committee had signed off on the town’s submission using the vintage logo.
For more information about the license plate program, call the City Clerk’s office at 410-289-8824.
