Radio Disney AM 640 Philadelphia, part of the #1 radio outlet for kids, tweens, and families, celebrates spring and the upcoming summer season at Ocean City's Springfest 2011. On SUNDAY, MAY 8 (3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.), Radio Disney AM 640 joins the festivities bringing kids and families free on-stage performances by Roshon Fegan, who stars in "Shake It Up," Disney Channel's #1 hit series of all time in the target demo, and Radio Disney's "N.B.T." season three winner Kicking Daisies. Additionally, fans will have a chance to take pictures and talk with Kicking Daisies during a hosted meet and greet session following their performance*.
Springfest 2011 celebrates spring and the upcoming summer season in Ocean City, Maryland, offering families the perfect beach getaway. Featuring four dynamic days of delicious food, live entertainment, and unique arts and crafts, Springfest serves up a continuous variety of musical performances on two stages. Admission to the four-day event is free including Radio Disney-hosted performances, which will be located in the entertainment tent on the Springfest grounds at the inlet lot. Roshon Fegan plays Ty Blue, Rocky's hip, sarcastic older brother, who is popular at school, loves to dance, and knows how to charm the girls, in the hit Disney Channel dance-themed comedy series "Shake It Up." Fegan starred in hugely popular Disney Channel Original Movies "Camp Rock" and "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" and has guest-starred on several television series including "Monk." His feature film credits include "Spiderman 2" and "Drillbit Taylor."
Winner of Radio Disney's "N.B.T." season three, Kicking Daisies is a four-member rock band that brings infectious punk-pop hooks through its members ranging in age from 14 to 18-years-old. Though coming from humble beginnings in a Milford, Connecticut basement, the creative minds of Caitlin (drums and songwriter) and Carly Kalafus (bass and vocals), Duran Visek (guitar and vocals) and Ben Spremulli (guitar), have already seen sold out shows. Kicking Daisies' debut single "Keeping Secrets" reached #13 on Radio Disney’s Top 30 Countdown.
Following Springfest 2011, Radio Disney will return to Ocean City with its popular "Sizzlin' Summer of Stars" event series featuring appearances and concerts by popular recording artists and stars throughout the summer, beginning June 19.
