Ocean City, Md., Launches Free iPhone Application to Make Vacation Planning Easier

New application will provide visitors with access to exclusive deals and promotions available in Ocean City, Md.

    Ocean City, Md. (June 7, 2010) – The Ocean City, Md., Department of Tourism today announced the launch of its free iPhone application, Ocean City Mobile, which is now available through the iTunes Application Store.
   
    The iPhone application provides users with direct information on Ocean City restaurants, accommodations, entertainment, events, services, deals and promotions, maps, weather forecasts and more. Ocean City is one of the first beach destinations to launch an official iPhone application. 
   
    To preview or download the application, visit www.ococean.com/iphone. A version of Ocean City Mobile for Blackberry and Android will be available in the near future.
   
    Ocean City Mobile features the largest selection of Ocean City deals and discounts currently available. The application boasts advanced search functionality and syncs with Google Maps to show dining, accommodations and entertainment options within close proximity to the user’s location. Users can also bookmark locations and share this information via Facebook, Twitter or email.
   
    “The Ocean City Mobile iPhone application will allow vacationers to plan their Ocean City trips in advance or enhance a vacation once they are already in town, all with the simple touch of a screen,” said Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan. “Ocean City is excited about this new trip planning tool and looks forward to helping our visitors save money and time to get the most of their Ocean City vacations.” 
   
    The Ocean City Mobile iPhone application was created by MGH, Inc., a full-service marketing agency located in Owings Mills, Md., which plans and executes Ocean City’s advertising, social media, public relations and interactive media campaigns.
