DRIVE IN DISGUISE ADDS NEW DIMENSION TO HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION

For the third year anyone with a vintage Ocean City license plate will be allowed to ride down the Boardwalk on Sat., Oct. 19.  This year a new dimension has been added - Drive in Disguise.  Anyone wishing to decorate their car will be allowed to ride down the Boardwalk also.  Prizes will be awarded.

"It was decided to include a Halloween twist to this year's event," said Mayor Rick Meehan.  "Halloween is one holiday that never seemed to get our attention.   We are grateful to the Downtown Association for stepping up to sponsor this event."

As in the past, the drive will roll-off at 27th St. at noon.  This year decorated cars will join with the OC vintage plate cars.  Vehicles will drive off the Boardwalk at the Inlet Parking Lot.

At the Inlet Lot a group photo will be taken for all vehicles and drivers.  Various OC organizations will have information booths set up and a DJ will play music.  Prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade.

Registration forms are available on the Downtown Association website: www.downtownassociation.net    There is a $25 registration fee for NON vintage license plate participants.  THOSE CARS MUST BE DECORATED.  Funds will be used for prizes and other costs.  There is no fee for those with an Ocean City 'vintage' license plate.   Proof of insurance is required for all vehicles.   For additional information contact Nancy Howard at 443-235-4405 or e-mail neffiehoward@comcast.net
