The Ocean City All-Star Basketball Camp is the perfect medium to teach young hopefuls the basic skills of basketball. The refinement of learned skills and advancement into strategy and conditioning are strengths of the program, and will benefit hoopsters of all ability levels.

Camp Director, Steve Holmes, is the Head Basketball Coach at Salisbury University, and begins his ninth year at the Ocean City All-Star Camp. Coach Holmes’ staff members are proven coaches on the collegiate or high school level with the experience and qualifications to help children achieve personal satisfaction while developing skills and having fun. Our coaches' commitments are to the growth and enhancement of basketball and to the children who love the game.

The Northside Park Recreation Center boasts two air conditioned gymnasiums, plus all the comfort facilities necessary to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to all participants. Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch for the first three days.

This exciting eighth year hoop camp is designed for girls only. Participants will work to improve their skills of dribbling, shooting and passing. Learning and gaining confidence is very important when playing basketball. Having fun, meeting new friends, playing games and competing in individual contests are important too.

OC Recreation and Parks is excited to announce that Stephen Decatur's Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Amy Fenzel-Mergott, will be directing the Girls Basketball Camp being held at Northside Park. Coach Fenzel-Mergott played at Salisbury University and was recently inducted into the Salisbury University Hall of Fame for her contributions to the basketball program. As team captain, she ranked fifth all time in points (1,477) and fourth all time in rebounds (991). She coached 4 years at James M. Bennett High School, leading the team to a Bayside Championship and earning a Coach of the Year award.

Coach and her staff are proven coaches on the high school levels with the experience and qualifications to help children achieve their personal goals. Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch for the first three days.
