Chart a course back in time to a small island on the Chesapeake Bay. Discover the history and charm of Tangier Island as you walk the paths visited by John Smith in 1608 and settled by John Crockett in 1686. This is where most of the population of about 600 still speak with an Elizabethan accent and enjoy a unique way of life. Visit this historic and charming island aboard the "Steven Thomas,: a 300 passenger ship, which is 90 feet long, U.S. Coast Guard approved and designed for your comfort and safety. It has an air-conditioned cabin, sun deck, snack bar, restrooms, and is radar and radio equipped. Upon arriving at Tangier Island, a tour guide will greet you and guide you down to the famous "Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House, where an addition to your cruise can be a delicious family style meal. She will also point out optional meal choices. On the way back, you can browse through the gift shops, the new Tangier Island Museum (no charge,) get an ice cream treat or take a golf cart tour ($5.00) The cruise operates daily beginning May 15 through October 15. Departure time is 12:30 p.m. from the Thomas Deck in Crisfield, MD Arrive Tangier 1:45 p.m., departs Tangier at 4:00 p.m and arrive back in Crisfield at 5:15 p.m.
