Getting Around Ocean City

There are an unlimited number of things to see and do in Ocean City, and getting to and from those destinations and attractions is easy, thanks to our many public transportation options.

The Boardwalk Tram

The ocean breeze, beach, sand, and family atmosphere are just a few of the reasons why you will want to ride the Ocean City boardwalk trams during your visit to Ocean City! The comfortable boardwalk trams can take you the whole length of the boardwalk, which travels from the Inlet to the North Booth at 27th Street. The Boardwalk tram will stop at most any location along the route to load or discharge passengers. The best part of the half-hour ride will be the detour that takes you on the pier close to the ocean where you can see, hear, and sometimes even feel the ocean water. Now you know you are in Ocean City, Maryland!

Tram fare is $3.00 per person, per boarding, one way ride. Discount fare punch cards are available at $20 for 8 rides. Inquire at either Tram Station or with a Tram Conductor.

New unlimited ride pass, which costs $6, a passenger can get on and off the Boardwalk tram as much as they like between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. The unlimited ride pass will not be available during Springfest, Sunfest, OC Air Show weekend, July 4th weekend or Labor Day weekend. Unlimited ride passes will be sold at both north and south ticket booths and on any tram.

Coastal Highway Transit Bus "The B"

Getting around Ocean City won't break your vacation budget. In fact, it will only cost you a few dollars! It's the 'Best Value" ride! Ocean City municipal buses travel along Coastal Highway 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you can ride for just $1 per boarding or $3 per day. Our safe and clean buses are reliable and convenient and offer multiple stops along Coastal Highway, so your favorite OC attractions are easily accessible and within walking distance. Ocean City buses also run to and from the West Ocean City Park & Ride facility. After all, you're on vacation; why not give your car a break as well?

The Bus – "Express Service"

For the added convenience of our Springfest, Sunfest and special event attendees, the buses will be available for an "Express Service. The fare is $1 per boarding or $3 per day. Fare is transferable to Coastal Highway and Park & Ride Buses. Please review the "Express Service" schedule for specific dates and time of service.

Park N Ride "Beach Bus' service is available only on dates listed. Frequency of bus service is approx. every 20 minutes, 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Park N Ride "Beach Bus" service ends at 10 p.m. on Sunday of Springfest, Cruisin', Sunfest and Endless Summer Cruisin.

When Park N Ride Service is not in operation, transportation to/from Park N Ride to/from South Division Street Transit Station is provided by Shore Transit.

Outlet Bound?
The shuttle bus service between the West Ocean City Park & Ride and the South Division Street Transit Center in downtown Ocean City now includes a stop at the Ocean City Factory Outlets. This stop is located at the Pac-Sun store and is the only stop in the outlet shopping center. The bus travels from the South Division Street Transit Center to the outlet stop and then continues to the West Ocean City Park & Ride before departing again for downtown Ocean City. Seasonal service only.

Paratransit Curb-to-Curb Service:

In accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Ocean City Transportation offers curb-to-curb, or curb-to-beach service to eligible disabled residents and visitors of Ocean City. All eligible patrons may call the Dispatch Office at 410-723-1606 to make a reservation for the Paratransit van 365 days a year. Reservations need to be made at least one business day prior to service. Paratransit service is offered from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Our staff of well-trained drivers offers our patrons a safe ride to their destinations. We can even deliver you right to the front entrance of Springfest or Sunfest events. We can also connect you to DART at the North end and Shore Transit at the south end, if necessary.

Fares:

"The Bus" for Coastal Highway and "The Trolley" for downtown – $3 for an interchangeable Ride-All-Day pass from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. the following day or $1 per boarding.

West Ocean City Park & Ride – $3 Best Value or $1 per boarding for the shuttle service and free parking.

ADA ParaTransit – $3 Ride-All-Day or $1 per boarding. By appointment/reservation only. Call 410-723-1606.

Note: The buses, trolleys, trams and paratransit vans are cash or ticket only. Senior Citizen Bus Passes (Age 60 and older)

Senior citizen bus passes for residents and property owners, 60 years of age and over are available. The cost of the pass is $7 and it is valid for two years. All applications for bus passes and renewals require proof of property ownership or residency, such as an Ocean City tax bill or drivers license with an Ocean City address. Seniors obtaining a pass for the first time must show proof of age in addition to proof of residency. A senior bus pass allows free rides on the buses, trolleys, and paratransit van (if eligible). A non-resident senior bus pass is available free of charge to anyone 60 years of age or older. This pass will entitle the holder to half-fare passage on the bus, trolley, and paratransit van (if eligible). The non-resident bus pass is not recognized for reduced or free passage on the trams. Parking – The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot

Boardwalk or beach bound? Parking is easy and convenient in this centrally located lot at the southern-most point of Ocean City. The lot provides 1,200 parking spaces, including 35 handicap parking spaces and quick access to our bustling boardwalk and beautiful beach. Complete with a passenger load and unload zone, this lot is open 24-hours and is in operation from March 29 to October 20.

To gain access to the lot, simply obtain a ticket at the entrance. We suggest leaving your ticket in your car as additional fees ensue for a lost or damaged ticket. Forms of payment are cash and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover).

SPRING & FALL RATES:
The spring rates are in effect from March 29 through midnight of the Wednesday before Memorial Day. The fall rates are from Tuesday after Labor Day through October 20.

The rates are as follows:

Weekday and Weekend = $1.50 per hour

0 – 30 minutes	FREE
31 minutes – 40 minutes	$1.00
41 minutes – 50 minutes	$1.25
51 minutes - 1 hour	$1.50
Additional Time	.25 per 10 Minutes

NOTE: Lost tickets will result in a maximum charge of $36.00

SUMMER RATES:
The summer rates are in effect from Thursday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. The rates are as follows:

Weekday and Weekend = $2.50 per hour

0 – 30 minutes	FREE
31 minutes – 40 minutes	$1.50
41 minutes – 50 minutes	$2.00
51 minutes - 1 hour	$2.50
Additional Time	.50 per 12 Minutes

Physically Challenged Patrons:

In order to accommodate our physically challenged patrons, a 90-minute grace period is in place. In addition, handicap parking spaces are located near the beach as well as the boardwalk. However, if the length of time spent in the parking lot is 91-minutes or more the person will have to pay for the entire time spent in the parking lot in accordance with the parking fees listed above.

West Ocean City Park & Ride

We offer so many convenient and affordable public transportation options in Ocean City, that we encourage visitors to leave the driving up to us and give their cars a vacation while in town. The West Ocean City Park & Ride offers free, ample parking at the West Ocean City Park & Ride located at 12848 Ocean Gateway. Not only is the parking free, but the lot offers spectacular scenic views of the bay, surrounding wetlands, the Ocean City skyline and, of course, the gorgeous sunsets Ocean City is known for. Bonus tip: Visit the octagon gazebos and bird watch. Be sure to read the interpretive signs and check out the railroad bridge and brick walkways before catching the shuttle into town. Shuttle service from the West Ocean City Park & Ride is the 'Best Value" $3 per day pass or the $1 per boarding. This enables riders to unlimited daily trips between the Park & Ride, Ocean City Factory Outlets and the South Division Street Transit Center.
