Hi Billy.  For fishing try the Oceanic Pier - http://oceanicpier.com/.  It is an easy and flat commute from the inlet parking lot.  For more information on beach access, look here: https://oceancitymd.gov/oc/city-hall/americans-with-disabilities/

Ocean City is very handicap accessible.

Hello! I'm looking to book a cleaning service for my beach rental. Is there anyone you would recommend? Specifically, I need assistance with the patio and bathroom.

Are "bait blasters" allowed for surf fishing in OCMD? I know these have been used in Assateague Island, but I wanted to double check on OCMD rules before using it.

Sorry, but OC no longer allows this type of baiting from the shore.

I’ll be starting a week in Ocean City and we will be cooking food to save some money. At the end of my stay, I'm hoping to donate any leftover groceries to a nearby organization. Are there any local food banks or places to donate extra food?

How much does it cost to go through the toll booths? I'm coming from Frederick, Maryland and want to be prepared with enough cash!

It is $4 to go across the Bay Bridge.  I would take 70 to 695 to 50.  That is the shortest route and the least expensive as well.  Call 1-877-BAY-SPAN to get current Bay Bridge traffic.

Are tents allowed on the beach in Ocean City?

Tents that are closed in are not allowed in Ocean City. You can use a pop up open sided canopy as long as you have it securely anchored with the legs buried deep in the sand, and it has to be well back behind the lifeguard chairs and closer to the dunes so that the lifeguards line of vision isn't blocked.  You also cannot sleep on the beach, and canopies cannot be left up overnight.

I am a single senior and would like to visit the beach and the ponies. Which airport gets me to Ocean City? Is there a hotel that offers a shuttle to drive me to and from the airport? Preferably this hotel would also be close to a boat that could take me on the horse island excursion.

There is not a great airport to take a commercial airline to Ocean City. There are no hotels with shuttles to or from airports.

The closest airport is Ocean City Airport (OBX). It is about 5 miles out of town of Route 611, but it is General Aviation only and has no commercial flights. It is less than a 15 minute drive.

The closest airport with commercial flights is the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport (SBY). It is about 30 miles from Ocean City, near Salisbury, MD. It has only a small number of commercial flights - mostly (only?) American Airline to Charlotte and Philadelphia.  If you fly to Salisbury you can rent a car, rides sharing service, or take a taxi (about $50 to $75) to get to OC. It is about a 40 minute drive.

In terms of major airports, the closest ones are Baltimore Washington International (BWI), Washington-Reagan National (DCA), Dulles International (IAD), and Philadelphia International (PHL). Each of these airports is about a 3 hour drive from OC. BayRunner Shuttles runs shuttles from BWI to OC. From the other other airports  you need to rent a car or find some other way to get to OC.

To see the ponies from a boat, I recommend the Assateague Adventure cruise. It leaves from the dock at Talbot Street near the south end of town.

A couple of hotels to consider in this area are the Holiday Inn & Suites that is oceanfront at 17th Street and The Comfort Inn Boardwalk at 5th Street on the boardwalk.

Have a good trip to OC!

We're planning a trip to Ocean City in the beginning of June. I was wondering if you knew the dates of Beach Week (for recent Graduates)?

Beach Week or Senior Week runs from the end of May to about the third week of June.  It is the busiest the first two weeks of June.  I have not found them to ever be an issue.

Do you know where I could find registration information regarding this year's Sessions by the Sea Conference?

You cannot park your boat trailer on the street anywhere in OC.  You can park it at the 100th Street Parking Lot for a fee.
