I’m going to be staying on the Boardwalk during Thanksgiving week. What can I expect to find open?

I have often been to OC over Thanksgiving week. You will find many restaurants around town open and about half the shops at the south end of the boardwalk open. Boardwalk favorites  Thrasher's Fries, Dumser's ice cream, Fisher's popcorn (my favorite!), Candy Kitchen are often open most weekends all year if the weather is decent and will be open Thanksgiving weekend.

As my fellow insiders wrote you'll find plenty open like the Cork Bar, Green Turtle and Dead Freddies.

If the weather is nice, nothing beats a walk on the beach or boardwalk this time of the year.

Have Fun.

You will find the outlets open and the larger surf shops are open as well.  Fagers, Ropewalk, the Hobbit, BJ's and Seacrets are open for lunch and dinner.  If you want a great buffet dinner, try the Clarion.

You can still find some shops open during the week, more on the weekends (weather permitting). You'll find places like Thrasher's Fries and Fisher's Popcorn open, the Life Saving Station Museum,  the arcades and Trimper's indoor rides for the little ones will be open too.  Places will close early on Thanksgiving day, but you can expect a lot open come Friday. You may even find horse drawn carriage rides around the inlet.  Enjoy your holiday in OC, and don't forget to check out the Festival of Lights at Northside Park on 125th St.
