Hello! My friend and I are looking for a place to rent and jobs in Ocean City for the Summer of 2019. We are both college students looking to stay from May-August. Any suggestions as to where we should start our search? Thanks!

You are ahead of the season where people start searching for next summer, which is good.

If you are looking for a job, the Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Job Fair on 30 March 2019 from 9am to 1pm at the Convention Center. Get more info here.

Here are some suggestions of how and where to look for places to live:

Your best bet is to work with an employer and see if they have housing for their workers. These are usually the most affordable options. If that approach won't work for you, here are some other options:

- Checkout this list from the Department of Tourism

-Watch the classified sections of  Maryland Coast Dispatch and Ocean City Today. Both of these newspapers have jobs and seasonal housing listings.

- Even if you are not an international student, checkout E-Point Student Center - They help lots of international students find jobs and housing in OC, and could perhaps help you too. You can reach them at 410.289.9844.

Any realtor in town can also help you.

No matter where you go, be sure you confirm you are dealing with a reputable source for housing. A few years ago, several lifeguards got scammed by listings for places that demanded up-front rent payment and when they arrived in town they found out the places did not actually exist!

Good luck in your search!

Your best bet of finding a summer job would be to attend the Ocean City Job Fair at the Convention Center on March 30. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.   Otherwise, you can check local newspaper classified sections .

Awesome, good luck! You'll definitely want to try to come to town in the spring once things start picking up and businesses start hiring. Be sure to like and follow as many different local businesses as you can on Facebook to stay on top of what's happening.

You can also find seasonal rentals on craigslist.com.  Search of Ocean City summer rental or seasonal rental.  A decent 2-bedroom unit is $12,000 - $15,000 for the summer.
