How can I get to Ocean City, Maryland from Glen Burnie, MD without using the Chesapeake Bay Bridge?

Karl gave you the same route we use.  From Glen Burnie, it adds about 30 minutes to your ride.  The bad part is the tolls increase by almost $30 round-trip.

You will need to go over the north side of the bay. This route will also have some tall bridges, but none as long as the Bay Bridge. The tallest one is probably the Delaware Route 1 bridge over the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal (just under a mile long, 100 feet off the water.

Here is the route: From Glen Burnie, take the Baltimore Beltway to I-95 north. Take I-95 North into Delaware and then take Delaware Route 1 South. Take Delaware Route 1 South to Milford, DE where you get on US Route 113 South. Take 113 South into MD. If you are going to midtown or northern OC, get off 113 onto MD Route 90 East and take it to OC. If you are going to the south end of OC, continue in 113 to to Route 50 East. Both Route 90 East and Route 50 East end in Ocean City.

Janet you can also take  Route 1 down along the coast line for a more scenic trip.
