We are car-free. I am wondering how we are going to get Ocean City via train or bus via New York City? Also, what is there to do car-free couple such as ourselves?Submitted by Renee P, NEW YORK New York on July 23, 2012
You can get to Ocean City via Greyhound Bus. Check your local availability. Once you get here, Ocean City has a wonderful mass transit bus system that travels from one end of town to the other. The cost is $1.00 per ride, or you can buy a ride all day pass for $3.00 (probably the best for you) per day. So with this great bus system in place, it won't matter where you stay in OC, and you'll be able to get to everything you want to do.
Our friends just took Amtrak from NYC to Delaware, then took Grayhound from Delaware to OC. This was the most time/cost efficient way to get to Ocean City.
Hello. yes a Greyhound from the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC to Salisbury,MD and then once a day they have a bus to Ocean City, MD which is about 40 minutes from Salisbury, MD. then when you arrive in West Ocean City they have city buses or shuttles to get you to OC. Many people use that bus from Manhattan in the summer but is only once a day. it is an 8 hour trip with the stops. Once you are settled in OC you dont need a car, ours stays put all week. There are many restaurants, shops, drug stores, churches all within walking distance of everything. have fun call Greyhound at 1-800-231-2222 or 1-410-289-9307
