There are tons of great options in OC and the best option depends on your specific needs and budget. They are not listed in any particular order, but are all solid choices. I've included properties with a mix of locations, amenities, and price points to help you find one that meets your group's specific needs.

Dunes Manor is a couple of blocks north of the boardwalk at 28th street, all rooms are ocean front with balconies. Any easy walk to the north end of the boardwalk. They have an indoor/outdoor pool. This is one of my favorite properties in OC, and the place I always recommend if I am only recommending one place. My family stays there often. They have adjoining rooms. http://www.dunesmanor.com/.

The Dunes at 27th Street is the sister property to Dunes Manor and is an great choice. They are ocean front at the north end of the boardwalk. They also have non ocean front rooms that are less expensive in their west building. They have several different room configurations. They have an outdoor pool. http://ocdunes.com/

The Castle In the Sand at 37th street is a great midtown location. The hotel is ocean front; they have several buildings and all types of rooms. They have lots of amenities including volleyball and an outdoor pool. http://www.castleinthesand.com/home.php

Holiday Inn Ocean Front (67th Street) is a great ocean front property with a large outdoor pool, tennis, indoor pool, game room, and lots of other amenities. My family as stayed there many times. http://www.holidayinnoceanfront.com/

Holiday Inn Suites at 17th Street is right on the boardwalk.  Many rooms are ocean front with balconies. http://www.ocsuites.com/.

Courtyard by Marriott at 15th Street is ocean front on the boardwalk. New property built about 4 years ago, lots of amenities including ocean front and ocean view rooms with small balconies. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sbyoc-courtyard-ocean-city-oceanfront/.

Quality Inn and Suites at 33rd street has nice ocean front rooms and indoor and outdoor pools. http://www.qualityinn.com/hotel-ocean_city-maryland-MD063

Princess Royal at 94th Street. I stayed here last spring. It is very nice and has lots of amenities.: http://www.princessroyale.com/

Carousel at 118th Street. I stayed here last fall. A very nice hotel with an Ice Skating rink, indoor and outdoor pools, and lots of other amenities. http://www.carouselhotel.com/

The Spinnaker is a one block off the boardwalk at 18th Street. It is an ocean block property, so it is more affordable, and they just renovated their rooms. It is also a great place that I highly and routinely recommend. It is an easy less than one block walk to the beach. All rooms have balconies with a view of the beach and ocean. They have an outdoor pool.

Sahara at 19th Street on the boardwalk with ocean block buildings too. A basic motel that will be clean, but will not have lots of amenities. Outdoor pool. http://www.saharamotel.com/

The Flamingo is just north of the boardwalk at 31st Street. It is ocean block with 3 buildings and an indoor pool so it will be more affordable than the ocean front places. They have indoor and outdoor pools.  http://www.theflamingomotel.com/

The Comfort Inn Boardwalk  is oceanfront on the boardwalk at 5th Street. It is closer to the south end of the boardwalk where there is tons of action, but far enough north to be not too noisy at night. They have and indoor and outdoor pool. My son stayed there a last summer said it was great.

Have a great trip with your friends to OC!

I would check www.ococean.com/ocean-city-md-deals .

Also check www.ocean-city.com Put your dates into the box on the right side and scroll down to where it says "show all rates".

You will have no problems finding a place.

I would do some searching for hotels that you like and call them personally. The availability of hotels doesn't always match watch you see on the internet. For example I was looking for a place for next weekend myself but on the internet the Sahara Hotel was full but when I called I was able to book a ocean front room for a good deal.

Pam,

Not sure waht type of hotel you are looking for but the best bet is to go to www.hotels.com and search for your criteria.  Please note, that they may not show vacancies but you may always call the non toll free direct hotel phone nd see if they have last minute openings.
