I am thinking about heading to OC 3/16/2015 through 3/18/2015 for a short getaway. What can we expect to be open as far as businesses, entertainment, etc.? Thanks!

Hi Robert,

The closer it gets to summer, the more that is open including indoor miniature golf at Old Pro on 68th St, stores inside the Gold Coast Mall on 115th St, many restaurants including Fagers Island, and the outlet malls in west OC>

You will find all the major bars, restaurants, and night clubs open.  There are about 30 larger restaurants open and about 10 night spots.  Check out http://www.coconuttimes.com for live music.

Since these are week days in March, many things will not be open. You will find some shops on the boardwalk (less than 20%) open and some restaurants. Restaurants in larger hotels will be open, as will places open year round including Harborside, Harpoon Hanna's, OC Brewing, and BJ's on the WaterOld Pro's indoor mini golf course at 68th Street will be open. Marty's Playland will also be open.

Sorry we're so late answering your question. The big excitement was this past Saturday for the St. Patrick's Day weekend, but you'll find that plenty of restaurants and bars will still celebrate on the actual day.  I suggest you pick up the free newspapers at your hotel or at the Convention Center on 40th St. and check out what's going on around town.  Places like Seacrets and Shark on the Harbor are open, along with plenty of other places. Enjoy your mini vacay.
