I'm having my sister's bachelorette party in Ocean City the first weekend of May. What are the must-do's? Is there anything that isn't open yet that will affect our stay? Since we can't take advantage of the beach since it'll probably be too cold, I'm really depending on nightlife/boardwalk attractions. Any suggestions would be great!! Thank you in advance!!Submitted by Valerie R, Milford Connecticut on April 18, 2016
I am sure you will have a great time. There are a few things will not be open, but the things you most likely to want to do, will be available. Here are a few ideas, some more traditional, some less so:
Fager's Island (410.524.5500) at 60th Street on the bay also caters to bachelorette parties. You can contact them to see if they can host part of your festivities.
OC has lots of great clubs and bars. Some great bars I recommend are The Cork Bar, Bearded Clam, Fish Tales, and Longboards. Another bar I like for great music is The Purple Moose Saloon on the boardwalk between Talbot and Caroline Streets.
If anyone likes to gamble, visit The Casino at Ocean Downs, about 5 miles outside of OC on Route 589, Racetrack road, about 1/2 mile north of Route 50.
If your group likes an adventure in the great outdoors, consider a kayak trip. I've been out several times, including in April (the bay is shallow, so the water was warm enough). We used Assateague Outfitters - they do a great job and the trips are a lot of fun. Plus, you will see the famous Assateague wild horses! No experience required. I've been out with people from age 8 to age 70 and everyone had a great time!
Have a great time with your friends in OC!
I know Secrets and Fagers seem to be the most popular and they actually arrange sorta a mini party designed for you if you call and arrange ahead of time.
Enjoy and take a bus :)
Valerie you may still be able to hit the beach depending on the weather. May can get pretty warm.
I'm just thinking sitting out on the beach, of course no swimming but you can still get some sun.
Night life must hits are Seacrets and Fagers. Other places you can add to the list would be Fish Tales, Ropewalk and the boardwalk bars.
You'll find just about everything open and plenty to do.
Coconuts will be open for the season on 5/6. Keep in mind the evenings tend to get rather chilly so have a jacket! Seacrets and Mackeys are a must do for your bachelorette party. Be safe and enjoy.
That weekend the water will be cold but it might be warm enough to be on the beach.
I would suggest visiting Seacrets for your bachelorette party. It is always a happening place!
Check out Coconuts beach bar at the Castle in the Sand hotel. They have 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-6, beach volleyball court and live music.
The beach may be ok the first weekend of May. I have been on the beach late last March and it wasn't too bad. With the warmer temps, the ocean will warm up and make the beach a little warmer. For nightlife, definately check out Seacrets. Its the place to be and be sure to wear your bachelorette garb. You will definately get the attention! Also, try some miniature golf at the Old Pro Golf courses on 68th and 136th Streets. Lots of fun!
Seacrets, BJ's On The Water, Fager's Island and the Purple Moose are some fun places to go. All have a different vibe to them. Everything will be open by the first of May except the outdoor rides and waterparks.
