All umbrellas and tent are at the discretion of the lifeguards.  That being said, as long as you do not block their view, you should be fine.  We see them all the time on the beach.  Just place them behind the lifeguard stands.

Until what date do the boardwalk and rides stay open? If I plan on coming late September will the rides still be available?

The normal rides on the boardwalk and at Jolly Rogers stay open officially until Labor Day. After that, some will open on weekends for another couple of weeks, then close permanently until the following May.  The Trimper indoor rides for children are open nearly year round. They will close during the winter if the weather is really bad.  I would expect the rides and games to be closed during your visit.

We're coming down Sept 1st 2014 and want to know if the tram will still be running that day.

Hi Vanessa! Yes the tram will be up and running for that day. it is $3 each way. If for some reason the tram is crowded, the bus runs 24 hours for $3 so that is another option you may find will help you get around if you need it. If you need anymore information just visit www.ococean.com and click on getting around. Have fun and enjoy down in Ocean City!

Unfortunately no.  Some condos (very few) will allow grilling and there are charcoal grills for public use at Northside Park.

Jolly Roger on the Pier used to do Wax Hands. I imagine they are doing it this summer too. They are at the south end of the  boardwalk.

Anything down there that is 18 and up? My friend is the baby of the group and I dont want her left out because shes not 21 yet? We'll be there the 20th - 22nd if that helps.

How about horse racing? Ocean Downs offers live harness racing action 4 night a week. 18 y/o's can wager in MD and it is a fun way to spend an evening.

There is a clubhouse that serves dinner and drinks and admission is free and all ages are welcome .You are seated inside at a table overlooking the track and can wager right in that area. The members of your party who are 21 or over can order cocktails too.

The tellers who take the wagers are helpful and friendly and understand there are many novice wagerers. The free program has info about how betting works too. They offer 10 cent trifectas on quite a few of the race's. We go at least once every summer and have a great time. You might even hit it big! Here is more info:
