Hi! I am having a bachelorette party in Ocean City in the beginning of May. One of the members of the wedding party is only 18. What places will we all be able to get into at night? Any recommendations for daytime activities?

Hi, Susan!

If you are the bride-to-be, congrats! Hitting a few different restaurants will be your best bet as to avoid her being turned away from bars and clubs. I would recommend OC Brewing Company as one of my stops. Remember that you can ride the bus all day for $3! Or make the 18-year-old drive :)

You eat dinner at Seacrets, Fager's Island and BJ's  with someone who is under 18, but you will be unable to hang at the bars.  BJ's may be your best bet because you can dance.  I advise to get to any location before 7 pm as many require all people entering to be over 21 after a certain time.

Most of the traditional bars or clubs will not allow people under 21 in the evening, but there are some other options:

There are many more casual restaurant than club type places that offer bands and DJs. I'd call some of them  and see if they can accommodate you. Some solid options are: Fish Tales (22nd on the bay, 410.289.0990), BJs (75th on the bay, 410.524.7575), Coins (28th, 410.289.3100), Macky's (55th on the bay, 410.732.5565), Harborside (West OC at the harbor, 410.213.1846), Beach Barrels (443.664.5773).

I'd also call Fager's (60th on the bay, 410.524.5500). They specialize in bachelorette parties and may be able to help you.

I recently ran across a new charter cruise company that could perhaps help you with a booze / booze-less cruise. I have not tried them yet, but they look promising. They are OC Swim Call. You can reach them at 443.235.4950 and see if they may be able to help you setup a fun night.

As far as fun tings to do, here are a few ideas:

Pamper yourselves at a local spa. Some great options are OC Massage, Grand Aqua Spa, and Creative Day Spa.

If you like art, take a trip to the Art League Gallery on 94th Street. I go here almost every time I am in town. Their exhibits change monthly, and I always find something interesting to look at there.

If your group likes an adventure in the great outdoors, consider a kayak trip. I've been out several times with Assateague Outfitters - they do a great job and the trips are a lot of fun. Plus, you will see the famous Assateague wild horses! No experience required. I've been out with people from age 8 to age 70 and everyone had a great time!It will be plenty warm enough in early May to take one of thee trips - the Coastal Bays are shallow and the water warms up quickly.

If anyone likes to gamble, visit The Casino at Ocean Downs, about 5 miles outside of OC on Route 589, Racetrack road, about 1/2 mile north of Route 50.

Checkout the interesting shops in nearby Berlin. While you are in Berlin, take in a show at the Globe Theatre.

Have a great time with your friends in OC!
